Forgewood Community Centre was built in 1965. Situated in the heart of the Forgewood community this centre is used for a variety of purposes including meetings, mother and toddler groups, art classes, bingo evenings, dance classes, discos and social functions. As well as being used as a base for the local clinic on a Wednesday.
Forgewood Community Centre and staff would welcome well-organised social functions and community-based activities and classes.
Facilities
Forgewood Community Centre has one main hall and a committee room available for let to the public.
The main hall has a capacity intake of 90 persons for a dinner dance and 100 persons for a disco event. There is a stage set to the rear of the hall that can be used for musical accompaniment to an evening or for the purposes of a performance. This hall has durable surfaces and can therefore be adapted to suit the needs of most lets.
There is a small committee room in the centre, which is ideal for small gatherings and clubs or meetings. This room can seat up to 15 persons.
Kitchen facilities in the Forgewood Community Centre are suitable for re-heating food only and may be used for the purpose of hot buffets or heating through ready prepared food.
Transport
Forgewood Community Centre is accessible by public transport. There is a bus stop close to the centre. For those who are travelling to the venue by car there are limited places parking facilities at the centre.
