Groove Live - Youth Arts Festival 2008
Welcome to North Lanarkshire's Youth Arts Festival for 2008, Groove Live. This festival is aimed at young people aged between 11 and 25 years. The programme has a wide range of events taking place in schools and community venues across North Lanarkshire, all during the month of October. This year we even have a great event for school students that has sneaked into the programme, from September! Check out the brochure for further information.
The festival continues to grow year on year and this year as well as our regular partners, Cumbernauld Theatre , contributing to the festival, we have a fabulous series fo projects, competitions and challenges devised by the Cultural Co-ordinators for schools, some of which have a particularly oriental theme that links with other Community Arts events in the programme.
October is a fabulous month for arts activities and we're celebrating them all in North Lanarkshire this year - there's Words 2008: Festival of Books and Writing between 30 September and 11 October, National Peotry Day on 9th, The Big Draw throughout the month, Tell a Story Day on 24th, the National Mental Health Arts and Film Festival 1 - 19th (there are events for and by young people, see brochure). Finally to end the month, we have Halloween to celebrate with some seriously spooky films.
Groove Live has something for everyone this year. Why not find your Groove, come along and try something new. There are great projects, competitions, workshops and activities both inside and out of school hours, Get into Groove Live!
Booking information for each event is given beside each workshop and performance.
