Kilkenny Limestone 1992
Motherwell Library, Hamilton Road, Motherwell
The artist created this carved sculpture in response to his research into early Scottish archaeological artefacts. The carved Kilkenny limestone from relates to the Pictish stone calls which have been found throughout Fife and Aberdeenshire and also at Skara Brae, Orkney. Like the mystical, Pictish forms, "Power Symbol" is intended to evoke a sense of function and play.
Parking for this artwork can be found at Motherwell Heritage Centre Car Park, High Road, on street parking at Avon Street.
