Additional comments

  • 3 different tutors – very varied but overall very helpful.

  • A photocopying machine was available in Wishaw Library but not at Pather Community Centre where we were shunted to the last few weeks. That was most inconvenient.
  • Classes are not advertised in Cumbernauld News or libraries etc.
  • Despite enrolling on two forms, I have never received any information on cancellation/change of venue/summer break etc. Organisation of the class and events have been disgraceful since Jackie left.
  • I would have preferred more tuition and less practice.
  • No refreshments are ever provided. No materials are provided. Should be advertised in local press.
  • Recently lost Mark Cox as tutor who was excellent and the main reason for attendance.
  • Ventilation – with exception of small office or broom cupboard. Materials – with exception of copying facilities at Pather. Advertising – local press advertising and consistent venue availability would greatly enhance the numbers attending the class.
  • Sufficient clay available, but not a good selection of glazes available.
  • The class is cancelled in summer due to lack of numbers, increased advertising could perhaps improve this situation and prevent cancellation.
  • The heating system seems faulty – usually too hot- which is uncomfortable.
  • The only complaint I have about the classes is the length of time you have to wait to get your work fired and glazed. I have work that has been ready since April and I am still waiting on it.

The young woman Claire who takes the class is exceptionally good and helpful and knows how to cope with the different abilities in her class.
