Rosehall high is a fully comprehensive non-denominational school serving the south side of Coatbridge. It is co-educational, accepting boys and girls, and covers all stages of secondary education from first year to sixth year.The school is located in three main teaching blocks, the school is well provided in terms of equipment and accommodation.

In addition we have specialist accommodation such as a ninety seater lecture theatre, a library/resource base, three language laboratories, six science laboratories, three art rooms including a pottery room, three craft workshops for technical subjects, three rooms equipped for home economics and five computer laboratories. For physical education we have a games hall, a fitness suite, two gymnasium, a rugby pitch and access to the adjacent Rosehall playing fields.  We also have facilities for disabled pupils including lifts in two of the teaching blocks, handrails at strategic locations and toilet facilities.

There are six primary schools in the Rosehall high catchment area.  The associated primary schools are Carnbroe Primary, Kirkshaws Primary, Langloan Primary, Old Monkland Primary, Shawhead Primary and Sikeside Primary.

The school has pupil support structure to help both pupils and their parents.  The aims of this are:

  • To ensure that each pupil is known personally by at least one member of staff
  • To consider the pupil's personal, social and intellectual development
  • To help the pupil be aware of his/her own development and to take responsibility for it
  • To identify and respond quickly and appropriately to the specific needs of the individual
  • To foster the development of good relations between teachers and pupils
  • To work well with the home in all aspects of pupil development
  • To liaise with support and welfare services
  • To systemise and make effective the recording and communications of information relevant to the welfare, future career and academic progress of individual pupils.

The aims of the school are:

  • To provide a comprehensive pupil support service for every pupil
  • To value and respect all members of our school community
  • To encourage and develop in our pupils interests which will prove personal satisfaction in leisure time
  • To encourage our teachers to take every opportunity of improving the professional expertise in order that our pupils are consistently in receipt of a high quality service.
