Tannochside Primary and Nursery

Tannochside Primary school badge

Tannochside primary school is a non-denominational co-educational primary school. Many extra curricular activities are available within the school. Netball, rollerblading and active health, keyboard, recorder and Christmas enterprise clubs have been organised by teachers at the end of the school day. These activities vary dependent on staff participation. Outings will take place throughout the session related to our Environmental Studies Programme.

The school plays an important role in the community. To help forge these links, we have frequent visits from the local police, fire service, etc. We participate in library and police quizzes, swimming galas, clean-up campaigns and visits to homes for the elderly. We welcome all forms of community involvement where circumstances allow.

Our aim is to develop a close relationship with parents. Parents may visit or telephone the school at any time if help is required in any way. Newsletters regarding holidays, educational visits and other relevant information are sent out regularly during the session. Parent helpers assist with infant activities, library, swimming baths, educational visits and extra curricular activities.

Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from Tannochside primary normally transfer to Uddingston Grammar.
