Stepps Primary School

Stepps Primary school badge Stepps primary school celebrated its centenary in September 2002. It was originally built as the village school but now there is a much wider catchment area. The complement of staff at present consists of, head teacher, deputy head teacher, 13 teachers, two part-time teachers and four classroom assistants.

Pupils and staff from Stepps primary have recently moved to their new school building. The school is very popular and many children attend through a placing request. The school has a multi cultural population and is supported by a teacher of English as an additional language. Stepps primary benefits from good relationships between parents and staff with a very active Parents Teaching Association.

 

Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 years so that they have the opportunity to complete at least four years secondary education. Pupils from Stepps primary normally transfer to Chryston High.
