St Teresa's is a Roman Catholic co-educational primary school teaching children from primary one to primary seven. The school is used out-with school hours by Community Education for adult classes. There are many extra-curricular activities available within the school for the pupils to participate in. Two football teams from St Teresa's participate in the local "Soccer Sevens" festivals. Both girls and boys are involved in the soccer sevens teams. Football coaching is provided at the school for pupils in P6 and P7. Pupils attend soccer skills development courses provided by fully qualified SFA coaches. |
| The school plays an important part in the community, taking part in environmental projects, providing after school activities, liasing with local police, fire and road safety officers. The school has a major involvement in the parish life of St Teresa's Church. Parents and other members of the community are regularly invited to attend exhibitions, functions and concerts organised but the school. The school plays an extremely active role in the many activities that make up the local gala week events. |

The school has badminton and netball teams and also provides coaching after school in these sports. St Teresa's primary takes an active role in North Lanarkshire Council's athletics development programme, participating in cross country, indoor and track and field events. Our school is regularly represented in quizzes organised by the community police, the local community and North Lanarkshire Council's libraries. The school has a well attended after school drama club, which presents two annual performances for the local community. This club has taken part in several festivals and has won several awards.
Parents are encouraged to contact and visit the school to discuss children's progress, well-being or behaviour and to offer their opinions and suggestions. They are also encouraged and welcomed into the school to take an active role in their child's education. Parent helpers are involved in many learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher. Parents are kept informed of important dates, school events and activities through regular notes, weekly press reports and a monthly newsletter. There is an active parents association and school board, in which parents are encouraged to become involved.
Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from St Teresa's normally transfer to Taylor High School, New Stevenston.
