The school serves the areas of Dunbeth, Greenhill and Cliftonville in the centre of Coatbridge. There are 15 primary classes and a nursery class. We are staffed as follows one head teacher, 17 primary teachers, one SEN assistant, four clerical staff, one nursery teacher and one nursery nurse. |

Parents are welcome to contact the school at any time. Twice yearly open sessions are held in order that parents and teachers may meet to discuss the children's progress. All parents are invited to join the Parent Teacher Association. Parents are informed by letter of the various meetings and activities of the Association. Meetings are normally held with parents prior to First Confession and First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Open afternoons for new entrants and their parents are held each year in June.
As the school plays an important role in the local community, every effort is made to support such events as Monklands Festival, police community involvement, football competitions, inter-Schools quiz, entertainment for senior citizens and competitions organised by local bodies. We are grateful to local agencies such as the police, fire-service and the library service for the help they gave us both in visiting the school to instruct our pupils and in welcoming us to take groups or pupils to see them and learn from them at their place of work.
Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from St Patrick's normally transfer to St Andrew's High, Coatbridge.
