St Helen's primary is a Roman Catholic school and is co-educational. The school caters for primary and nursery children with some special needs children. The school serves the Condorrat area of Cumbernauld and receives placing requests from families in the Westerwood, Greenfaulds, Balloch, Blackwood and Dullatur areas. |
| The building is an attractive spacious 'bungalow' type school and the warm purposeful atmosphere permeates all areas. The school is well recognised locally as delivering a high quality curriculum with motivated children and committed, professional staff. A very high standard of behaviour is evident in all areas of the school. |

We liaise closely with the Parish of Our Lady and St Helen's forging strong community links and encouraging participation in the practice of our Catholic faith. Children's Liturgy takes place at the 10 o'clock mass each Sunday and the children and staff go to church on the first Friday of each month. Father Conroy, our Chaplain, is a frequent visitor to the school. Children from other religious communities also attend St Helen's and we ensure that other world Religions form an integral part of out curriculum. Those children may choose to remain behind in school while their classmates go to church.
Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from St Helen's primary normally transfer to St Maurice's High School, Cumbernauld.
