St Brigid's Primary school badge We serve the Roman Catholic population of Newmains and have strong links with the Parish of St Brigid's. We opened in 1959 and were extended in 1970's by the addition of huts. The associated secondary school is St Aidan's High in Wishaw.

There are 12 classrooms, eight of which are presently used as class bases for P1 to P7. The remaining rooms are presently used as IT base, TV and library, parents' room and general purpose and nursery nurse base. The main hall is multipurpose. Outside view of St Brigid's Primary school
