St Brendan's Primary

St Brendan's Primary school badge St Brendan's primary school is a co-educational Roman Catholic school for pupils between four and 12 years. The school is situated on the northern slope of the Clyde Valley between Motherwell and the village of Netherton. It has extensive grounds and has its own all weather football pitch. It is North Lanarkshire Council policy that school accommodation should be made available as far as possible outwith school hours for the use of the community.

The maximum capacity of the school is 322. At present we operate a seven class single stream structure. Where numbers permit classes of only one group are formed at each stage. If necessary composite classes, ie classes consisting of more than one year group, may be formed on the basis of working ability groups. All classes in the primary one to primary three stages are limited to 30 pupils in line with North Lanarkshire's Raising Achievement Policy. Outside view of St Brendan's Primary school

Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from St Brendan's normally transfer to Our Lady's High School, Motherwell.
