We are a mainstream primary school for pupils between the ages of four and 11 in Wishaw and serve a wide catchment area comprising of Branchalwood, East and West Coltness, Cambusnethan, the north side of Kenilworth Avenue and Kirk Road. The accommodation is a single storey building which has three linked areas to accommodate infant, junior and senior departments. There are currently 11 classes, four of which are composite. |
| We work in partnership with parents and the wider community to encourage Christian attitudes and a sense of responsibility towards our neighbours. Positive behaviour and high self esteem are a feature of our success and the school house system and school council encourage team spirit and a sense of shared responsibility in decision making amongst children. |

There is an active school board and parents' association whose members meet regularly to assist and support the development of home-school links and the corporate life of the school.
We are very well resourced to meet the requirements of the 5-14 curriculum and these resources include modern PC computers and associated hardware.
We have a history of success in all curricular areas and extra curricular activities including netball, cross country, Scottish country dancing, choir, recorder and guitar tuition help ensure all children have the opportunity to develop their talents in full. We also take part in local events such as athletics and netball competitions, quizzes, Burns' competitions and concerts and all children have the opportunity to participate in public performance at least once each year.
Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from St Aidan's normally transfer to St Aidan's High School.
