Noble Primary

Noble Primary school badge Noble primary school is a non-denominational, co-educational school teaching children from primary one to primary seven. Children will follow a broad based curriculum at Noble primary. Therefore extra-curricular activities play an important part in extending interests, encouraging a sense of responsibility and fostering attitudes which will aid their social development.

The support and enthusiasm of our staff and friends of the school allow Noble primary to offer the following experiences: A block of swimming lessons at Bellshill baths for primary five pupils; When suitable, school topics are always backed up by excursions into the appropriate environment for further study. Specialised visitors are invited to school to talk with pupils and show off their particular skills; Theatre visits both to and from school are encouraged; our own concert performances allow our pupils to become personally involved.

Our football activities are very popular with boys and girls. The teams formed, compete both home and away, in a variety of events. Book clubs and fairs encourage pupils and parents to further participate in the enjoyment of reading. Older pupils can take advantage of our residential visits to outdoor centres such as Kilbowie at Oban. Musical instruction using orchestral instruments is also available to those who show ability in primary six and seven. A cycling proficiency programme is carried out in May/June for primary seven pupils.

Mutual links between teaching staff and parents are a vital consideration towards the education and welfare of pupils. Newsletters from the head teacher are sent out to parents regularly keeping them informed of all that is happening in the school. Meetings will be arranged throughout the school year. These may be for the purpose of a workshop to acquaint parents with the programme of work being undertaken by their children and the desired outcomes. Other meetings may be called to bring important educational issues to the attention of parents, provide a chance for open discussion, and invite a response. Invitations will also be extended to parents wishing to spectate or become involved in various school activities eg sports, displays and suitable outings.

Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from Noble primary normally transfer to Bellshilll Academy. The school has a good relationship with Bellshill Academy. Familiarisation visits allow those pupils transferring to become comfortable with their new situation. Likewise, parents will also have the opportunity to visit. Teachers from the various departments also visit Noble primary to work with their new pupils while still in primary seven.
