Ladywell primary is a non-denominational, co-educational school, situated in North Motherwell and serves a mixed catchment area. The school is staffed with nine teachers, two senior teachers, depute head teacher, head teacher, three classroom assistants, one SEN assistant working15 hours, two office staff, one janitor, three cleaners and three catering staff. |
| There are no "classrooms" as such, but bases and areas. The areas where the teaching takes place are located around the periphery of the gym hall. There is a kitchen which has facilities for on site preparation of food. The children eat in the dining area which doubles up as an activity area. Children with packed lunches also use the dining area. This allows the gym hall to be used for extra curricular activities during the lunch hour. If the weather permits, children are allowed to eat their packed lunch outside at the picnic benches. |

The audio and visual room doubles up as a stage and the noisy or quiet room houses our library and musical instruments, Apple computer, iMac and television. All stages have access to iBooks and iMacs. Structured play is located in the P3 and P4 base for use by P1, P2 and P3.
Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 years so that they have the opportunity to complete at least four years secondary education. Pupils from Ladywell primary normally transfer to Braidhurst High or Dalziel High.
