Golfhill Primary

Golfhill Primary school badge Golfhill is a non-denominational, co-educational primary school covering the stages of primary one to primary seven. The school is currently staffed by nine teaching staff, three classroom assistants and various support staff.

Built in the 1950's the school serves the communities of Burnfoot and Golfhill on the north side of Airdrie and is situated opposite Airdrie Golf Club. The school accommodation comprises of nine classrooms, a library, gym hall with stage, dining hall and kitchen, together with conference room and various offices and open areas. Golfhill primary make every effort to ensure that there is a good home and school link. Letters and news sheets are sent out regularly informing parents of activities and events within school. Parents are invited to assemblies, services, shows and productions, parent's workshops and presentations. A number of fundraising events are held, including the November fayre. Parents are invited to sports days and other sporting events. Children from Golfhill primary participate in local events and parents are invited. Parents of beginners are invited to "open events" and curricular workshops as their children start school.

At Golfhill we pride ourselves on our caring ethos and a stimulating environment in which our children achieve admirable results.

Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils from Golfhill primary normally transfer to Airdrie Academy, South Commonhead Avenue, Airdrie.
