Christ the King is a co-educational Roman Catholic primary school. Our present school roll is 155, with a current capacity of 265. The school which is situated in the village of Holytown approximately four miles from Motherwell, was built in 1976. |

The building is semi-open plan and the accommodation comprises of nine teaching bases with adjacent activity areas. There is a literacy room, library, music room and computer suite. The large study/dining area can facilitate whole class lessons. There is an open assembly and PE hall with stage which is regularly used for school productions, a medical suite and staff conference and resource room. |

Pupils normally transfer from primary and secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5 years. So that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. The associated secondary school with Christ the King is Taylor High. Taylor high school has established an extensive liaison programme including a block of six weeks where P7 attend Taylor high one morning per week. This programme ensures that our pupils are very familiar with Taylor high before their transfer.
