The school has a long history and tradition as it was founded in 1875 to serve the Catholic population of the town of Motherwell. The present catchment area of the school is from Forgewood to Knowetop and Jerviston to Greenacres Estate. |
The buildings are a mixture of old and new with three distinct areas, one for infants, juniors and seniors. The associated secondary schools are Our Lady's High and Taylor High and there are very strong links with both schools.
The school aim is:
"Cathedral primary will endeavour to create an effective organised caring community which is committed to developing the potential of all pupils and staff in a Christian atmosphere of trust, co-operation and mutual respect in partnership with parents and the wider community."
