Carnbroe Primary

Carnbroe Primary school badge Carnbroe Primary school a non-denominational, co-educational school situated in the village of Carnbroe, south of Coatbridge. The school teaches children from primary one to primary seven. There are 17 members of staff including janitorial, administration, teaching and support staff.

The school is a caring and courteous place where each child is encouraged to reach his or her potential and to treat others with respect.  The school forms an integral part of the wider community acting as a general link in the chain of communication within the area. The premises are used, at present, on two evenings each week. The pupils are encouraged activities of the school. Those who live in the village are welcome at school social functions, end of term ceremonies, etc.

Facilities are available for a variety of extra-curricular activities – eg netball, football, scripture union, chess, Scottish country dancing, short tennis, and pupils are encouraged to join these. The school is grateful to parents and staff who help with these groups.

Pupils normally transfer from primary to secondary between the ages of 11.5 and 12.5, so that they will have the opportunity to complete at least four years of secondary education. Pupils normally transfer from Carnbroe primary to Rosehall High School, Coatbridge.
