The nursery can accommodate 61 children within our three playrooms:

All places are allocated in line with North Lanarkshire Council's admissions policy. Places for children aged under three require to be supported by an inter-agency referral.

Happy room (3-5 years)

Staff offer children very many learning experiences, meeting the individual needs of the children by observing, planning and discussion with each child to determine their interests and thoughts. The curricular areas of the 3-5 curriculum framework document and the journey to excellence are incorporated into the very varied range of activities offered.

Jellybean room (2-3 years)

Within this room staff offer opportunities to further develop communication and language skills, build relationships with both adults and children, explore many sensory activities encouraging and extending curiosity leading to knowledge and understanding of their world. Both indoors and outdoors resources are available to encourage each child's movement and co-ordination.

Lullaby room (0-2 years)

Babies determine their own routine. Parents are requested to complete a diary of their baby's feeding or sleeping pattern.  A one-to-one activity time is on-going throughout the session. Babies and children are introduced to many sensory experiences.

We ensure equality of opportunity by working closely with multi-disciplinary professionals to ascertain and plan programmes for children who require additional support eg communication, medical, physical or emotional difficulties. This allows each child to reach their full potential. Agencies or multi disciplinary professionals include speech and language therapist, learning support, educational psychologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, health visitor and social work department.

We encourage parents to be actively involved in the life of the centre and to share their knowledge with us. Parental partnership is of the utmost importance, day-to-day contact allows the sharing of information. It also allows us to offer informal support and a listening ear if required. We have a bright, spacious parents' room with a small kitchen which can be accessed throughout the day for a coffee and a chat with other parents.
