Orbiston Nursery School

Orbiston nursery is situated in the Orbiston area of Bellshill.  We have bright, attractive accommodation on one level for up to 120 children aged 3-5, 60 children am/pm. Our enclosed outdoor play areas offer opportunities for climbing, cycling, running etc and we have recently developed a picnic garden for growing, planting and enjoying nature.

The nursery is staffed by fully qualified teachers and nursery nurses with many years experience.  In addition we have support of speech and language therapists and pre-five learning support teachers who visit weekly. Our staff includes a head teacher, a nursery teacher, a senior nursery nurse, four nursery nurses, an auxiliary, a home/school link worker and two clerical assistants.

We offer a very wide and varied curriculum based on the five key aspects of the Scottish Executive 3-5 Framework. This is a balance of free play and structured activities with a strong emphasis on language, confidence and healthy living.

We also work very closely with our parents, having a very active and supportive parents' committee.
