Calderhead Nursery School

Calderhead nursery school has 40 FTE places for children aged 3-5 years. The nursery enjoys a central location in the town of Shotts and is ideally placed to allow children and staff to benefit from the local amenities of the community centre, leisure centre, library, shops, train station and environmental walks.

The nursery has been established for 28 years in a single storey building consisting of three large playrooms and a substantial enclosed grassed play area to the rear. Staffing includes head teacher, senior nursery nurse and three nursery nurses. Ancillary staffing consists of one clerical assistant and a janitor/cleaner.

The nursery staff endeavour to provide a quality learning experience for children following national and local guidelines in a safe, secure, welcoming and happy environment.  We seek to work closely with parents in the early education of their children.
