Detailed below are the plans for the reinstatement of Baird Memorial Primary School, Avonhead Road, Condorrat following the destruction of the old school by fire.
Re-building the new school presented an opportunity to provide an integrated community facility.
Consequently the school will share accommodation with a Nursery school, Community Education and Education’s Network support. The games hall, dining rooms and multi-purpose rooms will all be available for community use whilst the school will be able to make use of the video, music and computer rooms situated within the community education area. The staff from the nursery and school will also share a staff-room, whilst parents dropping off children to the nursery can utilise the social area in community education for meetings and discussion.
The school is designed to accommodate 230 pupils located within a flexible open-plan teaching base that includes sliding partitions.
The school was officially opened on 5 May 2004.
