BikeSafe
BikeSafe is an initiative run by Police Forces around the United Kingdom who work with the whole of the biking world to help to lower the number of motorcycle rider casualties.
British Motorcycle Federation
The BMF was formed in 1960 following a major increase in the number of motorcyclists killed and injured on the roads and the subsequent media publicity that accompanied this. It is essentially, an organisation by bikers for bikers, and claims a 140.000 strong membership. The Federation offers a range of support services to bikers and acts as a lobbying group in Europe and Britain. The BMF Rider Training Scheme was introduced in 1982 and a network of training centres has been established throughout the country.
Motor Cycling
The organisation provides a comprehensive service to the motorcyclist ranging from the sale of bikes and parts, to insurance cover and general information on biking events and rallies. Although not directly involved in road safety, information is available on motorcycle clubs and dealerships throughout the country.
The Motorcycle Industry Association
The Motorcycle Industry Association is a trade association for the non-retail sector of the motorcycle industry. The aim of the organisation is to create a dynamic and proactive association that represents its members effectively and promotes motorcycling to stimulate the growth of the industry.
