Bicycle Association of Great Britain
The Bicycle Association of Great Britain Limited is the national body representing the Bicycle Industry in the United Kingdom. Membership is open to Bicycle Manufacturers, Manufacturers of Bicycle Accessories and Components, Distributors and Wholesalers and other companies having a particular interest in the Industry.
The Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust
The Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust is committed to saving young people's lives by promoting safe cycling and, in particular, the use of cycle helmets.
The Cycle Touring Club (CTC)
The Cycle Touring Club: lead rides, act as cycle advocates, write articles and organise activities at a local level.
The National Cycling Strategy
The National Cycling Strategy was launched in July 1996. It aims to establish a culture favourable to the increased use of bicycles for all age groups; to develop sound policies and good practice; and seek out effective and innovative means of fostering accessibility by bike.
The Scottish Cycling Development Project
The Scottish Cycling Development Project has been proposed by the two key cycling bodies, the CTC (the Cyclists' Touring Club, the UK's leisure and transport cycling association) and the Scottish Cyclists' Union (the governing body of cycle sport) and is funded by them, Scottish Natural Heritage, and Glasgow City Council. A Steering Group comprising all of these organisations plus representatives from sportscotland and Scottish Enterprise National manages it.
