School Crossing Patrol - Mobile Patrol Service

The Council has given the go ahead to make the mobile school crossing patrol pilot project a permanent feature of the patrol service. The Council recognised the success that the innovative backup service has had in ensuring that absences are covered. The introduction of the scheme has led to the number of requests for Police assistance to fall significantly.

The ultimate aim is to achieve self-sufficiency within the service. To this end the Council has increased the number of mobile patrol posts from the original twenty post to thirty part-time positions.

If you are interested in becoming a school crossing patroller or indeed a mobile patroller within your local area and doing a worthwhile and rewarding job, please contact the School Crossing Patrol Co-ordinator, using the "Contact Us" box at the top right hand side of your screen.
