St Timothy's Primary, Coatbridge Education 2010 Proposals

It is proposed that St James' Primary School will close and its pupils will transfer to St Timothy's Primary School.   St Timothy's Primary School will be rebuilt to accommodate the new school intake as well as the phonological unit from St Timothy's.   The design capacity is for 430 primary pupils.   In addition, an Early Education class, with up to 50 places, will be included in the new project.   This will replace the existing St Timothy's Nursery class.

The physical education facilities within the building and the on-site 7-a-side flood-lit synthetic surface pitch will be available for community use.    In addition, the assembly hall/gym, dining/general purpose and other community areas will be available for use by organisations outwith school core times of operation.   The existing community education base situated in St Timothy's Primary School will be provided for in the new building.

The new school building proposed is on the site of the existing St Timothy's Primary School which is on the part occupied Rosehall Park to the south of the town.
