The Council's proposals are for a new build primary joint campus sensitively designed to retain the identity and ethos of each school (St David's and Plains) but sharing some facilities. The design capacity is projected at 150 for St David's Primary and 110 for Plains Primary. In addition to primary accommodation, 30 Early Education class places will be provided to replace the existing St David's nursery class.
The physical education facilities within the building and the on-site 7-a-side flood-lit synthetic surface will be available for community use. The assembly hall/gym, dining, general purpose and other community areas will also be available for community organisations to use outwith school core times of operation. A community education school base is to be included on this campus.
The site of the new building will be on playing fields at Annieshill View.

The anticipated construction programme indicates site works starting in July 2005 with a full services commencement date of August 2006.
