New Stevenston and St Patrick's Primary Joint Campus and Public Library Education 2010 Proposals

The Council proposes a new build primary joint campus sensitively designed to retain the identity and ethos of New Stevenston and St Patrick's Primary Schools but sharing some facilities.   The design capacity is projected at 260 for New Stevenston Primary, including the existing integrated lanuage unit, and 140 for St patrick's Primary.   Both schools currently accommodate nursery classes and these will be combined to provide 60 Early education class places in the primary accommodation.

In addition to the education accommodation, the new building will allow for the integration of New Stevenston Public Library.

The physical education facilities within the building and the on-site 7-a-side synthetic surface flood-lit pitch will be available for community use outwith school core times.   Other areas to be made available for organisations include the assembly hall/gym, dining and general purposes accommodation.

The proposed site for the new primary joint campus is the part occupied site of the existing St Patrick's Primary School in New Stevenston and extends onto vacant land to the rear of the school.
