Glenboig and Our Lady's and St Joseph's Primary Joint Campus Education 2010 Proposals

The council's propsoals are for a new build primary joint campus sensitively designed to retain the identity and ethos of each school (Our Lady and St Joseph's and Glenboig Primary Schools) but sharing some facilities.  The designed capacity of Glenboig Primary is 60 and Our Lady and St Joseph's is 130.   In addition to the primary accommodation 40 places for Early Education classes, to replace the existing Our Lady and St Joseph's Nursery class, will be provided.

The physical education facilities within the building and the on-site 7-a-side floodlit synthetic surface pitch will be available for community use.   The assembly hall/gym, dining, general purpose and other community areas of the school will also be available for community organisations to use outwith school core times of operation.

The site of the proposed new building is the existing site occupied by Our Lady & St Joseph's Primary School on South Medrox Street to the north of the village.

The anticipated construction programmes indicates site works starting in April 2005 with full services commencement in August 2006.
