In Education terms, the Council proposals to close osehall High School and its pupils will transfer to Coatbridge High School. A new non-denominational secondary school will be provided with a design capacity for secondary education of a 1130 pupil roll.
The physical education facilities within the building and the synthetic surface flood-lit and grass pitches will be available for community use at nearby Dunbeth Park. Other areas available for let include the community and social spaces in the school campus.
The proposed site for the new ND secondary school is the existing occupied site of St Patrick's High School in Muiryhall Street which is in the north of the town.

The proposed construction programme for this project includes a site start date of October 2006 and full service commencement date anticipated to be October 2008.
