Toy and Equipment Lending Library - Lending Policy

The toy and equipment lending library (TELL) is a lending service offered to all Childcare providers within North Lanarkshire, registered with the Childcare information service.  It is operated by the Education resource service on behalf of the North Lanarkshire childcare partnership.

Will it cost me to use TELL?

North Lanarkshire childcare partnership approved a membership structure that sets a standard fee of £4 per child per year.  Your membership fee is currently paid by the Childcare partnership directly to TELL.

What am I entitled to?

  • There is no limit on the amount of resources TELL members can borrow.
  • If a member wants to keep resources for a further month, this is possible as long as no other member has put in a request.
  • TELL does not charge for the late return of resources.
  • TELL reserves the right to refuse the loan of any item within its collections.
  • All items can be delivered or uplifted using the van delivery service.  A delivery or uplift date will always be confirmed.

What happens if I damage an item?

In the unlikely event that a resource is returned and is damaged beyond repair, the member who returned the item will be advised that a replacement should be purchased and 'donated' to TELL.  In this instance a claim against the member's public liability insurance is recommended.  This will only be the case when the original cost of the resource exceeds £100.

If a resource is returned damaged and costs less than £100, TELL would ask to be notified and an explanation given as to how it was damaged.
