SAIL is provided by North Lanarkshire Council Housing and Social Work Services.

SAIL is a service that can access information on a wide a range of topics relating to all disability related matters. There are 2 Information Workers who can be contacted by any of the methods above.

- Lifestyle & Health
Who can use the service?
Anyone in North Lanarkshire.
- All enquiries will be treated confidentially.
- Facilities are also available for group meetings by booking in advance.
- There is a Signposting service available for Deaf BSL (British Sign Language) users on Thursday mornings
When is the SAIL service available?
Monday -Thursday 8.45am-4.45pm
Friday 8.45am-4.15pm.

SAIL is fully accessible to people with disabilities. Disabled parking facilities are available.

Specialist sensory impairment services
There are 6 Rehabilitation and Mobility Officers who are also based at SAIL. They offer specialist assessment for people with sensory impairments. Following assessment, they can help with:
- Independent Living Skills training eg help with household tasks, personal care tasks etc
- Independent Mobility Training - eg orientation, use of long canes etc
- Provision of equipment/adaptations
- Information/advice/support
- Training on sensory impairment
- Access information/advice
- Leisure and recreation,
- Technology and communication
How to get access to the Rehabilitation and Mobility Service
You contact your local social work office who will take all your details in a referral. Someone from the local team will come and visit you to assess your needs and will refer you to the service if it will be beneficial to you.
