Scottish councils vary in the extent of the free pest control service offered to householders and the types of public health pests treated. North Lanarkshire Council has taken the policy decision to provide a free and performance monitored response service for its residents. This high level of service is not uniform throughout Scotland.
If you live in North Lanarkshire, you can use our free pest control service. The service is chargeable to non-domestic premises and one-off or longer term contracts can be quickly arranged.
Pest Control Officers employed by the council offer advice on pest control and provide a service for the treatment and control of a variety of pests, including the treatment of wasps nests. The aim of pest control is to eliminate or reduce the numbers of pests so that they are no longer a public health problem and then to prevent a recurrence.
Treatment provided The following pests will be treated free of charge in residential properties:
- Rats
- Mice
- Wasps
- Bees
- Fleas
- Bed bugs
In addition to the treatment provided for the above, certain other insects may also be treated, and free pest control advice is available on most other pests.
To report a problem, please complete the online pest control report.
We aim to respond to all enquiries relating to rats, wasps, bees, fleas or bed bugs within 2 working days, and all other requests within 5 working days.
